Buddha Footprints Tour, will let you explore the region which was once treaded by Buddha himself. The trip starts from Bodhgaya, the epicenter of Buddhism, moving towards Rajgir, Sarnath, Kushinagar, Lumbini and Sravasti, all of them having served an important role in the life of Buddha. Adding on to this, the tour includes a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra and a sightseeing of National Capital of India, Delhi.

Itinerary
On arrival at Gaya International Airport, you will be meet and welcome by our representative at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Bodh Gaya. After fresh-n-up at the hotel, head-out to explore Bodh Gaya, one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres. At Bodh Gaya, the Prince turned into Sage, Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment and became Buddha under the "Bodhi Tree". Visit Mahabodhi Temple built by Ashoka the Great in 3rd Century BC. Within the premises of this temple complex, one can still sit under the venerated third offshoot of this Bodhi Tree. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today we'll visit Nalanda & Rajgir. At Rajgir, visit Gridhkuta Peak, at the top of Ratnagiri hill, where Lord Buddha preached many inspiring sermons, a Peace Pagoda has been built by the Buddha Sangh of Japan. Also visit Venuvanaram and Bimbisara Prison. Then drive to closely located Nalanda, the historical and religious place in central of Bihar. In Nalanda, visit the ruins of ancient university; the site of Nalanda was one of the greatest monastic universities of the ancient world University established in 5th century BC. It is believed that Lord Buddha and also the founder of Jainism religion Lord Mahavir taught at this university for years. There is even a monument to facilitate Chinese traveller monk and writer Hiuen Tsang who studied at this university in the 7th century A.D. Later in the evening drive back to Bodhgaya for overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy full day sightseeing at Bodh Gaya, visit Sujata House, a temple near the Falgu River dedicated to an Uruvela tribeswoman who offered food to the starving Siddhartha. Also visit Niranjana & Dungagiri Caves. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, leave for for Varanasi. On the way visit Sarnath, the principle centre of Buddhism. It was here around 530 B.C that Buddha preached his first sermon after gaining enlightenment, and established the foundation of Buddhism. At Sarnath, visit the Dhamekha Stupa, the Archeological museum and the Chaukhandi Stupa. Later continue your drive to Varanasi for overnight stay.
Early in the morning, enjoy a boat ride on the River Ganges, followed by a visit to Akhara and see the traditional form of martial arts practiced there. Morning city tour of Varanasi, this includes a walk through the various sacred Ghats. Later leave for Kushinagar, the site of Lord's Mahaparinirvan. Upon arrival check-in at the hote, later begin experiencing the solitude of Kushinagar, one of the four pilgrimage sites with a visit to Ramabhar Stupa, standing on the spot where Lord's mortal remains were cremated. Also visit Mahaparinirvana Temple which has the enshrined large reclining figure of Buddha symbolizing the state of Nirvana. Overnight in Kushinagar.
After breakfast, proceed for Lumbini, the place where Buddha was born and currently, the site has some Buddhist monasteries. But the pilgrimage site is most importantly known for the presence of the Maya-Devi Temple and the sacred pond which are associated with the roots of Buddhism. Overnight stay in Lumbini.
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Sravasti - the site where Lord spent 24 rainy retreats and gave many enlightening sermons. On arrival, check-in at the hotel, later begin the sightseeing of Sravasti. Sravasti, was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala and an active centre for Buddhism in its heydays. Visit Jetvana Vihar, the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in and has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Dinner & overnight at the hotel in Sravasti.
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Agra - the Land of the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Early morning before sunrise our tour guide will pick you from your hotel and take you for a guided tour of the Taj Mahal and Mehtab Bagh. Later return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast at the hotel, visit Itmad-ud-Daulah, and Agra Fort. Later in the afternoon, leave for Delhi.
Today experience Delhi, the National Capital of India, in existence since the 6th century BC. Start your sightseeing from the Chandni Chowk, the busiest market in Old Delhi. Afterward, drive past President House, and India Gate in Edwin Lutyen's Delhi. Thereafter, visit Humayun's Tomb, built-in 1562, commissioned by Humayun's wife Hamida Banu Begum. Also visit the Qutab Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak. Later in the evening, our representative will transfer you to the New Delhi airport for onward journey.
