Don Bosco Center for Indigenous Culture is a renowned museum located within the Sacred Heart Church complex in Shillong. Also known as Don Bosco Museum, this is one of the most popular museums in Shillong, the museum is a hexagon-shaped seven-storey building that is full of art and culture. It houses 17 well-kept galleries of an international standard containing fiberglass figures, paintings, artifacts, musical instruments, costumes, jewelery, and much more. Language gallery, photo gallery, agricultural gallery, and musical instrument gallery are some of the galleries that can be visited here. In addition, visitors can see some of the rarest dance forms of the Northeast on the top floor of the museum.

Elephant Falls

Named after an elephant-like stone, Elephant Falls, located next to Shillong, is one of the most popular falls in the North-East. Umiam Lake

Umiam Lake, a man-made reservoir, is located 15 kilometers north of Shillong, the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya. The lake was created after the construction of a dam to generate hydroelectric power. The serene lake or reservoir is surrounded by dense coniferous forests and covers an area of â€‹â€‹about 222 square kilometres. The beautiful Umiam Lake surrounded by the lush green East Khasi Hills is one of the best scenic spots for nature-lovers in the country.
