Chimi Lhakhang
Chimi Lhakhang, a temple situated on the beautiful hill of Punakha, sees tourists not only from Bhutan but from all over the world. Wondering what is so unique about this temple that it has a crazy crowd? Chimi Lhakhang is also known as the "Fertility Temple" for childless couples who are known to bless newborn babies. Seeing the white and gray lives of these couples transforming into a colorful rainbow, the temple holds a special place in the hearts of Bhutanese people. Apart from the miraculous feats, this religious place also becomes a topic of discussion among travelers for its architecture. The Thai themed architecture as well as the phallus carvings and traditional paintings are worth seeing.
Dochula Pass
Dochula Pass is a breath-taking mountain pass, commemorating Bhutanese soldiers who died in military operations for the country. Along the Dochula Pass, there are 108 memorial squares called 'Druk Wangyal Chortens' for the lives of each soldier lost in battle. The hills are decorated with religious flags colored in five colors to represent the natural elements: blue for the sky, red for the fire, green for the water, white for the clouds, and yellow for the earth. For local Buddhists, these flags are symbols of veneration and prayer inscriptions on each flag signify peace and prosperity for Bhutan.
Jigme Dorji National Park
The exotic park was created in 1974 by Jigme Dorgi, the third king of Bhutan and covers an area of ​​about 4,316 km. The park is the second largest in the country and is home to many endangered animals like snow leopard, Himalayan musk deer, Asiatic wild dog, red panda etc. The national park is an ideal place for trekking due to its spectacular spread of flora and fauna. Hence, it is also known as trekker's paradise. The park is also the residence of the Lep, a semi-nomadic community.
Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten
Khamsam Yuli Namgyal Chorten is a beautiful monastery situated on a ridge above the Punakha Valley. It is a four storied majestic temple which was built over a period of 9 years by Bhutanese carpenters, painters and sculptors. Mo Chhu (River)
Starting in the Gasa Dzongkhag district near the Tibet and Bhutan border, the Mo Chhu (river) flows towards the Punakha in the central region of Bhutan. After this it joins the Po Chhu from the north-east of Bhutan. Although Punakha has two rivers named Fo Chu (male) and Mo Chu (female), the latter is, for the first time, widely preferred for children and the elderly.
Punakha Dzong

Punakha Suspension Bridge
The Punakha Suspension Bridge is one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan and spans a length of about 520 feet! You can enjoy spectacular views of the river flowing under the bridge or the rolling valleys in every direction. Built with massive cement blocks with solid planks of wood and cables, the bridge is surprisingly stable for its length and is covered with colorful religious flags at all points. It also serves as a starting point for several multi-day trekking trips in the area.
