Darap Village
Darap Village is a perfect destination for those who are looking for a day out amongst the wonderful views of the rich forests and hills. The village is part of the Darap Eco-Tourism Committee. The village is in the interior of the Himalayan belt and was recently discovered and made ready for tourism. The local people known as Limboz have preserved their rich culture and traditions over the centuries and are extremely welcoming by nature. A lot of tourism-related activities can be done in Darap village like trekking, traditional house tour, making handicrafts, bird watching, and visiting caves in Kangchenjunga National Park, etc.
Khecheopalri Lake
Khechopalri Lake is a sacred lake located at Khechopalri near Pelling town of Sikkim. It is one of the beautiful lakes of Sikkim. Situated at an altitude of 6000 feet, the Khechopalri Lake is a sacred place of worship for Buddhists as well as Hindus. The lake is an integral part of the much-coveted valley of 'Demazong' which means valley of rice. Khechopalri Lake is also part of the Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit involving Yuksom, Dubdi Monastery in Yuksom, Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, Sanga Choling Monastery, and Tashiding Monastery.
Rabdentse Ruins
On a low hill to the southeast of Pemayangtse Monastery in Pelling, Sikkim, are the old ruins of the old Rabadantse Palace. Rabdantse was the second capital of Sikkim till 1814 AD. The old palace and monastery are now completely in ruins and the Archaeological Survey of India is presently working on its restoration. All history-lovers should visit this archaeological site. The view of the entire valley below and the Kangchenjunga peak from the Rabdentse ruins are absolutely spectacular.
Sanghak Choeling Monastery
Sanga Choling Monastery or Sangay Choling Monastery is a Buddhist monastery located in the town of Pelling, Sikkim. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim and one of the best places to visit in Pelling. Sanga Choeling Monastery, meaning place of secret chants, was built by Lama Lhatsun Chempo in 1697 CE. Perched atop a high ridge, it is highly admired among the followers of the Nyingmapa sect of the ancient school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Pelling Singshore Bridge
The Singshore Bridge is a suspension bridge located between Dentum and Uttare village near Pelling. At a height of 198 meters above the ground, it is the highest bridge in Sikkim and the second highest gorge bridge in Asia. The Singshore Bridge, which has a length of 100 meters and more than 240 meters, is truly an engineering marvel and was built to connect the two valleys. This bridge helps trekkers to cover large distances between hills in less time. The view below from the bridge is filled with the view of beautiful waterfalls and the mesmerizing view of the lush green hills above is pleasing.
