Kumari Amman Temple
The 3000 year old Kumari Amman temple at this place is dedicated to the virgin goddess Kanyakumari, who stands in eternal vigil protecting the country, surrounded by a stone wall and standing on the edge of the sea. The entrance to the temple is through the northern gate, while the eastern gate is always closed, except on certain festival days, when the deity is taken out for a ceremonial bath. The deity is facing east.
Lord Subramanya Temple
Subramanya Swamy Temple is located in Kangeyanallur and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. The presiding deity is also known as Kangeyan. The presiding deity Subramanya is found in the sanctum sanctorum in a standing posture with his consort Valli and Devasena in marriage form. Standing on a 38 feet high pedestal, the colossal statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar is another popular attraction of the Kanyakumari visit. The statue was erected by the Tamil Nadu government in honor of Saint Thiruvalluvar, who is unquestionably one of the greatest Tamil poets and philosophers. Enchanting every visitor with its immaculate sculpture, this stone sculpture is carved on a 38-foot tall pedestal at Thirukkural to symbolize the 38 chapters of virtue. The statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar is about 133 feet tall when combined with the height of the pedestal. The height of 133 feet also signifies the 133 chapters in Tirukkural.
Vattakottai Fort
Vattakottai Fort, which translates to 'circular fort', is a seaside fort near Kanyakumari, the southern tip of India. The fort is largely made of granite blocks and today a part of the fort also extends into the sea. Spread over an area of ​​3.5 acres, Vattakottai Fort is one of the must-visit places in Tamil Nadu. Situated just 7 km north of Kanyakumari in Agasteeswaram taluka, this fort really adds to the beauty of Tamil Nadu as it is situated on the shores of the magnificent Bay of Bengal.
Vivekananda Rock Memorial
The magnificent Vivekananda Rock Memorial is located on a small island in Kanyakumari. It has the picturesque Indian Ocean in the background. It is situated on one of the two adjacent rocks protruding from the Lakshadweep Sea and consists of 'Sripada Mandapam' and 'Vivekananda Mandapam'. Vivekananda Rock Memorial is located in Kanyakumari about 500 meters east of Vavathurai mainland and is accessible by regular ferries.
