The Khapra Kodiya Caves are part of the Junagadh Buddhist Cave Group. They are the oldest of the caves in the group. The caves, on the basis of scribbles and short cursive letters on the wall, are dated to 3rd-4th century BCE during the Emperor Ashoka’s rule and are the plainest of all the caves in the groups. These caves are also known as Khangar Mahal. They were carved in rock during the reign of Emperor Ashoka and are considered the earliest monastic settlement in the area. These caves are along the edge of the ancient Sudarshan Lake (which no longer exists) and a little outside Uparkot fort, to the north.

Navghan Kuwo are two step wells located inside the Uparkot fort in Junagadh. Adi Kadi vav is around 300 feet in length and 11 feet in width and 170 steps to reach to water level. The third gate of fort which is closed now is located in Adi Kadi Vav and small spot of Ma Devi Khodiar. There was also a window to punish the criminal at Adi Kadi Vav. Navghan Kuvo is located beside the Adi Kadi Vav. It is 170 feet in depth, 30 feet in width and 200 steps to with circular stairs.

In the year 2003, management of zoo inaugurated a natural history museum in a large hall in the veterinary hospital. People who don't want to indulge in a three-hour wildlife safari at Gir National Park can visit the Sakkarbaug Zoo as here one can spot Asiatic lions roaming freely. Some of the fauna include panther, deer, antelope, wild boar, blue bull, black buck, and spotted deer. Objective of the Sakkarbaug Zoo is to protect the animals in captivity and also to educate the people about the endangered and rare species of the earth.
