Barabati Fort

Barabati Fort at Cuttack in Odisha is a famous fort with a carved entrance. It is about 8 km away from the city. This is a 14th-century fort that was built during the Ganga dynasty. The fort is situated on the river Mahanadi. The fort is situated on such a calculated site that it provides a beautiful and spectacular view of the modern Cuttack city. It is an earthen mound of a 9-story palace. The monument was built with such a design that it protects it from enemy attacks. The fort was re-established in the 14th century and the walls of the fort are made of sandstone and laterite.

Bhitarkanika National Park

Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary spread over 650 square kilometers and boasts of rich marine vegetation, salt tolerant varieties of trees and plants, rivers and creeks. Chandi Temple

The Katak Chandi Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess Chandi, the presiding deity of Cuttack, Orissa. The temple is located nearby the banks of the Mahanadi River. It is famous for the annual Durga Puja and Kali Puja festivals. The Durga Puja festivities are prominent in Maa Katak Chandi temple which takes place for 16 days starting from the dark fortnight of Ashwina Krishna Ashtami till Ashwina Shukla Navami and Vijayadashami.

Dhabaleshwar

It lies on a river island in the River Mahanadi and serves as a popular weekend getaway for the people of Cuttack and other nearby towns. This temple, established back in the 10th century AD is an important pilgrimage center and also provides a beautiful scenic and serene ambiance. One can reach this place from Cuttack by using boats and ferries. There is also a foot-over bridge which people can use to reach this temple by paying a nominal fee.

Singhanath Temple

Singhanath Temple, assigned to the 9th century AD, is located at Gopinathpur and Baideshwar village in Baramba tehsil of Cuttack district in the Indian state of Odisha. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is worshiped by Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is an example of traditional Kalingan style of architecture.
