Seven Sister Waterfalls

Nohsingthiang Falls is a picturesque waterfall located in Mawsai village of East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Also known as Seven Sister Falls and Mawsai Falls, it is one of the tallest waterfalls in India and one of the major places to visit in Cherrapunji. Nohsangithiang Falls is a seven-section waterfall that falls from a height of 315 meters (1,033 ft) and has an average width of 70 meters (230 ft). This waterfall falls on the top of the limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills only during the rainy season. The seven sections of the waterfall symbolize the seven sister states in the northeast namely Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya.

Arwah Cave

Arwah Cave is a huge cave located in the Khalihshnong area of â€‹â€‹Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. Known for its limestone formations and fossils, it is one of the popular caves in Meghalaya and one of the great tourist places in Cherrapunji. Arwah Caves are known for their limestone formations and fossils which are believed to be millions of years old. Explorers and adventure lovers have seen various fossils in the shape of fish, dog skull, etc. The structures inside the cave are inclined and naturally carved in such a way that people can easily pass through them. Dainthlen Waterfall

Falling down from a height of about 90 meters, Denthlen Falls is one of the famous waterfalls of Cherrapunji, which attracts a large number of tourists every year. Tourists visiting the waterfall can see the natural rock carvings of a snake, which represents the symbol of evil, greed and corruption.

Khasi Monoliths

Attractive structures belonging to the Khasi tribe, are located near the Mausamai Falls and are quite popular among tourists. The underground passages beneath the old caves are actually straight out of history. The Khasi Hills are famous for many monoliths and table stones, which have a bygone era. Most of the monoliths present here were built in the memory of certain people. These monoliths are either monuments where the ashes of the deceased are deposited in cairns or cenotaphs, which depict some great events. The straight stones represent men and some of them are up to 6 meters high.

Mawsmai Cave
