Constructed in 427 AD, the church is one of the oldest Syrian Catholic churches in all of India. Vembanad Lake
Vembanad Lake is a lagoon located in Alleppey district in the south-Indian state of Kerala. This huge lake/lagoon is the longest lake in the country and the largest lake in Kerala, accessible from Kottayam, Kuttanad and Kochi. Vembanad Lake is known by different names in different regions of Kerala. It is called Kochi Lake in Kochi, Punnamada Lake in Kuttanad and Vembanad in Kottayam. The local people also call it Vembanad Kol or Vembanad Kayal.
